Brighouse Gala

I have just been informed that the Brighouse Gala which was due to be held on the last Saturday in June has been cancelled.  This is not only sad for the band but many charities in the Brighouse areas as like us it is one of our biggest fund raising efforts of the year.

Hopefully it will be bigger and even  better next year.

Lockdown Quiz

Lockdown Quiz

David Crisp has kindly put together a quiz.  If you are taking part then can you email you answers to David by 7.00pm on Friday 24th April. I am sure there will be a fantastic prize waiting for someone !!

Saluting the NHS

Saluting the NHS

Each Thursday everyone has been applauding our fantastic NHS and healthcare workers.  Members of the band have also been doing their bit to show their appreciation by performing an impromptu solo in their gardens, streets and place of work.

Virtual playing

Virtual playing

Having the lockdown due to the Coronavirus means the band cannot meet and rehearse or perform any concerts.  To keep in touch with everyone the Senior band have put together a virtual rehearsal and recorded part of the march Death or Glory which was featured in the film Brassed Off.

We all recorded our own part at home with a click track and our very able percussionist Russell Coppin trying his best to keep us all on track.  We then sent them to our Principal Trombone player Alex Smith who is a bit of a wizz with technology and he managed to put us all together.

Brilliant job everyone.
