We are delighted to announce that our Senior band has been invited to perform alongside Black Dyke Band at the Piece Hall in Halifax on Sunday 20th June 2021.
This is the first in a series of outside concerts they are performing where they have invited a band from the venue locality to perform along side them.
The idea of the concerts is that Black Dyke are looking to support the return to live music of local community bands after the last 15 months and we are delighted to be the first of a number they are giving.
Come along to the Piece Hall on Sunday afternoon 20th June 3.00pm onwards and enjoy the music.
For the last couple of weeks both our bands have been getting together once a week on a Thursday and Friday evenings for rehearsals. We have very kindly been offered Wibsey Methodist Church as it is much bigger than the band room and enables us to social distance.
We are also seeing a small number of concert enquiries drifting in so please look at our engagement page to follow where we will be over the summer.
It was lovely to get together after so long although only in groups of 6. All those who came really enjoyed making music again and seeing each other for a chat. Fingers crossed it continues. A special thank you to Wibsey Methodist Church for allowing us to have our groups in their grounds and hopefully once we can go inside they are letting us use their large church.
Take a moment to read our current newsletter which has now been uploaded on our About Us page. Not a lot of news, however, we like to keep in touch so you all know we are still here and hopefully with be able to perform again soon in 2021
Happy New Year to all our members and supporters. 2020 was a difficult year for everyone and we sincerely hope that 2021 is much better.
We have a few engagements for 2021 starting to filter through and you can see these on our Engagements page. We do hope that these will be able to take place.
